The IBPS PO Selection Procedure is conducted in 3 phases. The First phase is Preliminary Objective test followed up by Mains Objective test and the final phase is Interview.
IBPS PO 2016 Prelims Syllabus & Exam Pattern:
IBPS PO prelims exam will be divided into three Sections i.e English Language, Quantitative Ability and Reasoning Ability, with a total no of 100 Questions to be solved in One Hour. The Structure for exam is as follows:

1. English Language:
This Section of IBPS PO tests your language and language comprehension skills. This section is often refered as Verbal ability. Improve your Reading skills to make a grip at this section. Some Important topis for English Language are

- Para Jumbles
- Sentence Correction
2. Quantitative Aptitude:
This section mainly test your calculation skills and basic school-level Mathematics. Various important subtopics of quantitative ability are:
- Profit Loss, Time, Speed & Distance, Mixture, Trains, Age, Geometry
- Data Interpretation
- Data Sufficiency
- Series
- Quadratic Equations
You can start by revising the following concepts - BODMAS rule
- Squares, cubes, square roots and cube roots : squares of first 30 whole numbers and cubes of first 20 numbers.
- Addition and subtraction of fractions
- Multiplication and division of large numbers and Multiplication tables up to 30 or 35
- Rules of Surds and Indices
- Conversion of fractions to percentage and vice versa
- Approximations
3. Reasoning Ability:
Your Analytical and Logical skills are tested in this section i.e how you interpret data and analyze information given in form of puzzles, etc. Important subtopics for Reasoning are:

- Seating Arrangement
- Data Sufficiency
- Coding – Decoding
- Puzzles
- Assumptions
- Logical Reasoning
IBPS PO 2016 Mains Syllabus & Exam Pattern:
IBPS PO Mains exam is divided in 5 Sections i.e. Reasoning, English, Quantitative Ability, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge with a total no. of 200 questions to be solved in 140mins. There will be a sectional timing for each section in IBPS PO Mains 2016. IBPS department will soon issue "IBPS PO mains Syllabus".
